2011 Texas Football Season Opener vs. Rice

The Longhorns kick off their season against the Rice Owls on Saturday, September 3 with a brand new coaching staff and roster. Among that roster are some younger players who made a great impact on the field, such as Jaxon Shipley and Malcolm Brown. Garrett Gilbert also made his debut as the 2011 starting quarterback against Rice. College Press Box's Alex Stockwell has more on the opening night of UT football.
