Hot on the heels of its lauded premiere at Toronto International Film Festival, the sexually-charged Australian drama Burning Man is set to open this week across Australia. The non-chronological film tells the personal tale of writer/director Jonathan Teplitzky, who after losing his wife to a battle with cancer almost a decade ago, has managed to fashion his grieving experience into a surprisingly life-affirming and effervescent film about a Bondi chef binging on the flavours of life in a bid to fill a void left by death. Whilst touring the country promoting the film, I was fortunate enough to be able to sit down with Jonathan Teplitzky and talk about his experience making a film that hits so close to home.
